You’re Getting the Cream-of-the-Crop
To even be considered for the HondaTrue Certified program, a car must be six model years old or newer and have less than 80,000 miles on the odometer. For those that don’t quite meet that, HondaTrue Used program accepts vehicles up to 10 years old with no mileage limit.
Once a vehicle passes these initial requirements, it goes through a detailed 182-point inspection by Honda-trained technicians, who check everything from major systems like the frame and engine to small details like the floor mat hooks. Any issues found are fixed using genuine Honda parts. You’ll also get a full list of repairs and replacements, so you know what exactly went into your car.
Warranty Coverage
Honda backs its HondaTrue Certified vehicles with two warranties: a seven-year/100,000-mile powertrain warranty and a separate non-powertrain coverage that lasts for two additional years or up to 100,000 total miles, whichever comes first. So, say you find a four-year-old Honda with 40,000 miles on it. You’ll still get two more years or 60,000 miles of non-powertrain coverage, plus three more years or 60,000 miles of powertrain coverage.
HondaTrue Used cars, on the other hand, come with a limited warranty that covers both powertrain and non-powertrain components for 100 days or 5,000 miles.
Other Benefits
Honda’s CPO program also comes with a few extras to make ownership easier. You’ll get roadside assistance for the entire length of your coverage and a three-day exchange window in case the one you picked doesn’t feel quite right.
If you’re ever stuck far from home with a breakdown, trip interruption coverage helps cover the costs of food, a hotel, and transportation while your vehicle is being repaired. Honda even includes two free oil changes in the first year (one for HondaTrue Used) and a 90-day trial of SiriusXM.
