3. Santee State Park

Sitting along the western shores of Lake Marion, Santee State Park is a true oasis for water sports enthusiasts, offering great opportunities for boating, kayaking, canoeing, and fishing. Established in 1942 and spanning about 2,500 acres, this nature reserve can be reached in a little over half an hour by car from the Orangeburg city center, driving 27 miles east along route US-301 and Five Chop Road.
